September 13th 2011 Seaside Heights NJ - So I got up early and headed over to the beach today. Upon arriving at the crack of dawn I witnessed some walkers on the boardwalk and a lone surfer in the Ocean, but much to my delight the beach was empty. Wow a couple of weeks really makes a difference. This time of year the locals tend to flock to the sands and relax without the madness of the Summer Benny.
After enjoying the sunshine for a couple of hours I departed and headed into work, while I was leaving more locals were making their way onto the beautiful Jersey Shore beach with the biggest grins from ear to ear knowing they won't have to worry about someone kicking sand on them or being sandwiched in between a family of Canadians or a wild group from New York or North Jersey. During my stay there I was also reminded of 9/11 as a Coast Guard helicopter patrolled the coast. Well the best advice I can give to all locals right now is GET THERE while you can as long as the weather holds up. This is by far the best time of the year to hit the beach!
